Leaf Officer

ROLE OBJECTIVE
The role is responsible for implementing the Area/Regional leaf operations plan that meets the extension, volume & quality objectives by building effective partnership with registered farmers in order to ensure buying only the supervised run of crop optimally & efficiently.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Ensure delivery of all sorts of regional reporting and drive and execute regional projects
- Execute area Leaf Operations plan to meet extension, volume, and quality objectives
- Maintain procedures for farmer registration and ensure timely distribution of crop inputs and support programs
- Build working relationships with field technicians and provide training to update their knowledge
- Implement leaf best practices to improve quality and optimize farmers’ cost of production, including IPM, mechanization, hybrid varieties, soil fertility, energy conservation, post-harvest, barn and curing management
- Establish win-win partnerships with farmers through phase wise technical training and extension services to gain community support and loyalty
- Formulate and implement operational/tactical leaf buying plans to ensure buying, supervised run of crop with desired quality, grade mix, moisture, and price while following BOS, local legislation and ESG guidelines
- Implement different ESG initiatives (farmers living income, afforestation, women empowerment, sustainable wood source, elimination of child labour program) as per Regional plan
- Collect and provide industry insights for better strategy formulation and drive and implement digitalization practices in growing activitities
- Drive risk assessment processes in own area of operation and implement on-ground measures while ensuring all company policy related to control compliance, health & safety (EH&S) are followed

British American Tobacco Bangladesh has an exciting opportunity for an Auditor GOC in Finance
Your key responsibilities will include:
1) Farming & Crop Monitoring Responsibilities:
- Reviewing farmer contracts and ensuring updated records for land area and expected crop volume
- Checking training attendance and documentation for farmers on good agricultural practice
- Verifying past farmer performance and validating new and old farmer categorization
- Random checks (1–2%) on the distribution and usage of seeds, fertilizers, and other inputs
- Ensuring crops are being purchased from registered farmers only
- Spot-checking survey reports on seedbed preparation, planting, and crop produce
- Reviewing justification documents when eligible farmers are not contracted
- Supporting investigations related to bad debts or crop losses
2) Crop Buying Season Responsibilities:
- Reviewing daily and regional crop purchasing plans
- Ensuring clear separation between crop buyers and farmers for transparency
- Visiting buying centers to check whether proper processes are being followed
- Checking if weighing scales are calibrated correctly and in use
- Verifying personnel at buying sites match approved staffing plans
- Random checks on rejected crop logs and reviewing related documentation
- Monitoring sampling procedures to check for moisture and foreign material content
- Reviewing and reconciling crop movements and shipments from farm to warehouse
3) Financial Support & Control Checks:
- Reviewing support fund usage with matching documentation
- Checking whether all approved farmers received support as per eligibility criteriy
- Assisting with physical stock counts of raw materials and purchased crops
- Following control checklists to ensure financial and operational accuracy
4) Sustainability & Community Project Checks:
- Visiting farms to check for basic amenities, safety gear, fire safety, and first aid
- Following up on corrective actions for environmental risks or community safety issues
- Verifying participation in training sessions and assessing communication effectiveness
- Checking for proper logging of pesticide use and monitoring wood usage for curing
- Validating distribution and usage of community support items (vegetable seeds, tools, etc.
- Ensuring good engagement and support between field officers and farmers
5) Other Compliance Tasks:
- Checking adherence to global guidelines on environment, safety, warehousing, and hygiene
- Reporting any non-compliant practices found during field visits or document checks

Your key responsibilities will include:
·Ensuring that the organization adheres to local tax & VAT regulations are followed such as timely submission of returns, statements, reports etc.
·Verifying the accuracy of tax and VAT fillings, payments.
·Identifying potential non-compliances issues.
·Conducting audits for tax records, transactions and systems to assess tax related risk and compliances.
·Reviewing tax returns, supporting documentation and accounting system for accuracy and completeness.
·Investigating irregularities or discrepancies in returns, fillings, process including internal books & records.
·Identifying and planning for mitigating tax risks within the company
·Advising on strategies to minimize tax liabilities without breaching compliances

·Added knowledge & experience in finance/accounting/SAP/Audit is required.
·Possess strong auditing, analytical, technical, presentation and interpersonal skills.
