Academic Manager, English and Exams - Teaching

The British Council is hiring an Academic Manager in Dhaka to lead teaching quality and continuous improvement of its English teaching and exams products, with a focus on face-to-face courses and their link with assessment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement of English teaching and exams products and services in the market
  • Lead Teaching Excellence work: quality frameworks, observation, performance review and academic quality plans
  • Oversee testing and rollout of new products and pilots and monitor product performance against targets
  • Coach and develop teaching staff and support succession planning
  • Work with operations, marketing, customer services and global teams; champion safeguarding and EDI

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent by experience; Masters in ELT or assessment desirable
  • TEFL-Q (Cambridge DELTA or Trinity Diploma TESOL) or a British Council recognised equivalent (essential)
  • Experience in an English language learning management or assessment development role
  • Experience coordinating or supervising others in an international educational context
  • English at C2 level; legal right to work in Bangladesh (no visa sponsorship)
