Business Development Manager, Outbound

Job Summary

Strategy

• Achieve monitoring and review excellence by building team competencies, disciplined planning, and maximizing Sales efficiency in terms of both quality and quantity.
• Maintain discipline in hosting regular Outbound Team meetings as an effective strategic decision-making forum.
• Support Outbound Team projects and drive country project execution and implementation.

Business

• Support Associate Director of Outbound in translating Retail Banking agendas into detailed execution plans.
• Conduct disciplined reviews of processes and reinforce them with teams.
• Develop necessary measures and controls on processes and budgeting to upgrade governance standards.
• Closely monitor and analyze operational processes.

Processes

• Identify areas for process improvement and recommend ways to increase functional effectiveness and improve operational efficiencies.
• Implement Key Control Self-Assessment (KCSA) / Control Sample Testing (CST) processes, including sampling and testing the population of controls to ensure compliance with agreed control standards, as well as facilitating the monitoring and collection of Key Control or Risk Indicators.
• Support and provide guidance to the Responsible Person to ensure integrity, quality, and completeness in the execution of KCSA and CST.
• Ensure risks, issues, and control enhancements identified in Phoenix are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Ensure that all operational gaps are reconciled and closed in a timely manner.

• Review team structure and capacity plans.
• Monitor assigned jobs to ensure they are completed in a timely manner by the team.

Risk Management

• Act as a source of reference within the business and functional units in facilitating and promoting the understanding of the OR Framework.
• Provide leadership around Risk Management, both reputational and operational, to ensure risks are proactively identified and mitigated in country and all issues are timely reported or escalated in line with Group and local policies and procedures.
• Support and drive the implementation of ORF initiatives and rollout of the OR Target Operating Model.
• Record and maintain operational risks in the risk tracking system (Excel), in accordance with Group Operational Risk Procedures.

Governance

• Assess the effectiveness of the team’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight, and controls in the business and, where necessary, support changes in these areas.
• Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, Group Code of Conduct, and various Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines of the Bank by the country and Group V&V teams, enforcing the associated policies and procedures.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
• Understand and ensure compliance, in letter and spirit, with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct.
