Investment Officer

Position Overview

NRBC Bank is a dynamic and technology-driven 4th generation bank, committed to delivering innovative, customer-centric, and Shariah-compliant financial solutions. The bank is seeking qualified, energetic, and performance-oriented professionals for its Islamic Banking Window.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and manage Shariah-compliant investment proposals under Islamic banking principles.
• Analyze customers’ financial statements, business viability, cash flow, risk profile, and repayment capacity.
• Prepare investment proposals, appraisal reports, and necessary documentation in accordance with the Bank’s policies, Shariah Principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor sanctioned investments and ensure proper utilization, regular repayment, and timely recovery.
• Identify early warning signals, overdue/irregular investments, and potential deterioration in repayment capacity of the borrower.
• Ensure disbursement complies with Shariah Principles related to Islamic Banking.
• Maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients and develop Islamic Banking business without compromising investment quality, Shariah Compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Bank regulations, Bank policies, Shariah principles, and applicable risk-management guidelines.
• Identify business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the Islamic Banking portfolio.
• Coordinate with relevant departments for documentation, disbursement, monitoring, recovery, and other investment-related activities.

Educational Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from a reputed university, preferably in Business Administration, Bank Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Islamic Banking, Islamic Finance, or a relevant discipline.
• Relevant professional certifications/academic qualifications in Islamic Banking/Finance will be an advantage.
• 3rd Division/Class or equivalent CGPA/GPA in any academic record is not acceptable.

Experience & Expertise

• Minimum 4–7 years of relevant experience in Islamic Banking, especially in investment, preferably in a scheduled full-fledged Islami Bank/Islamic Banking Window under conventional bank.
• Candidates with sound knowledge of Islamic investment modes under Bai, Sarf, and Ijara will be preferred.

General Requirements

• Strong understanding of Islamic Banking principles and Shariah-compliant deposit and investment products.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and relationship-management skills.
• Strong business acumen with a target-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office and modern digital banking technologies.
• Willingness to travel and undertake field/business development activities as required.
• Candidates with Islamic Banking experience in reputed commercial banks will be preferred.
