Bank MTO Written Exam Preparation: What the 2026 Papers Actually Test

দশজনকে bank MTO written exam কীভাবে হয় জিজ্ঞেস করলে দশ রকম উত্তর পাবেন, যার বেশিরভাগই coaching notes থেকে আসে। Written পরীক্ষার প্রকাশিত তথ্য অনেক বেশি নির্দিষ্ট এবং কাজে লাগার মতো। বাংলাদেশের state owned banks, Bangladesh Bank এর Bankers' Selection Committee Secretariat (BSCS) এর মাধ্যমে recruitment করে, এবং BSCS প্রতিটি exam এর full mark split প্রকাশ করে। Private banks সাধারণত কোনো syllabus প্রকাশ করে না। 7 September 2026 থেকে Bangladesh Bank এর rule অনুযায়ী private banks কেও MTO, Probationary Officer এবং অন্যান্য entry posts এ objective বা written test এর সঙ্গে viva নিতে হবে। তাই এই guide শুরু হয়েছে যা প্রকাশিত তথ্য থেকে, 2026 BSCS এবং Bangladesh Bank notices, private bank documents এ পাওয়া তথ্য, এবং section ধরে কীভাবে preparation নিতে হবে তা দিয়ে।

The published pattern: what the 2026 BSCS papers contain

The Bankers' Selection Committee Secretariat runs the combined exams for state owned banks and publishes the subjects and marks before each exam. These are the 2026 MCQ papers. Each is 100 marks in one hour, with one mark for a correct answer and 0.25 taken off for a wrong one.

The written papers are 200 marks each.

2026 Senior Officer pattern নতুন। Prothom Alo যখন 1 May 2025 এ 2025 Senior Officer exam নিয়ে প্রতিবেদন প্রকাশ করে, তখন written paper এ General Knowledge ছিল 30 marks এবং argumentative writing ছিল 30 marks, আর MCQ তে কোনো Analytical Skill section ছিল না। 2026 এ written paper এ General Knowledge কমে 10 marks হয়েছে, analytical reasoning, critical thinking এবং argumentative writing নিয়ে 40 marks এর একটি section এসেছে, আর Financial and Banking Knowledge দুই paper এই আলাদা 10 marks পেয়েছে। Bangladesh Bank এর নিজের Assistant Director (General) notice of 4 May 2026 এও একই split ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। MTO candidate দের জন্য এই পরিবর্তন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, কারণ Senior Officer এবং AD papers হলো private bank MTO test যে level লক্ষ্য করে তার সবচেয়ে কাছের published match। আপনার guidebook 2025 বা তার আগের হলে সেখানে পুরোনো balance অনুযায়ী preparation হচ্ছে, যেখানে memorised GK বেশি এবং reasoning কম।

Two numbers that decide the MCQ

আপনার MCQ strategy নির্ধারণে দুটি সংখ্যা সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। প্রথমটি হলো time। 100 marks এর exam এক ঘণ্টায় এবং প্রতিটি correct answer এ one mark থাকলে প্রতি question এর জন্য প্রায় 36 seconds পাওয়া যায়। দ্বিতীয়টি হলো negative marking। প্রতিটি wrong answer এ 0.25 marks কাটা যায়। হিসাবটি সহজ। কোনো question এ চারটি option থাকলে এবং আপনি দুটি বাদ দিতে পারেন, তাহলে বাকি দুটির মধ্যে informed guess করা আপনার জন্য বেশি উপকারী হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা রাখে। একেবারেই কিছু না জানলে guess করা expected score খুব সামান্যই বদলায়, আর একের পর এক blind guess শুধু risk বাড়ায়। তাই যেটা সত্যিই জানা নেই সেটা skip করুন, আর option বাদ দিতে পারলে informed guess করুন।

Where the marks really are: the written paper

Written paper এ সবচেয়ে বেশি marks থাকে, আর এর বড় অংশই writing নির্ভর। 2026 সালের তিনটি BSCS pattern মিলিয়ে 200 written marks এর মধ্যে প্রায় 120 marks এমন task এ যায় যেখানে paragraph লিখতে বা translate করতে হয়, যেমন English ও Bangla focus writing, translation, argumentative writing বা précis। 6 June 2026 এর Officer (General) written exam দুই ঘণ্টা চলেছিল। 200 marks এর জন্য দুই ঘণ্টা মানে exam hall এ বসে একদম শুরু থেকে structure ভাবার মতো সময় থাকে না। যারা আগে timed answer লিখেছে তারা একটি plan নিয়ে exam এ যায়। আর যারা শুধু model essay পড়েছে তারা সাধারণত শেষ section এ গিয়ে time shortage এ পড়ে।

Private banks: the same shape, no published syllabus

Private banks এর ক্ষেত্রে চিত্রটি আলাদা। আমরা এমন কোনো private bank খুঁজে পাইনি যারা তাদের written test এর syllabus বা mark split প্রকাশ করেছে। তবে তাদের নিজেদের documents sequence সম্পর্কে তথ্য দেয়। Prime Bank এর careers page এ CV screening, written test, two or three face to face interviews, তারপর offer এবং medical এর sequence দেওয়া আছে। Dhaka Bank এর 2026 MTO circular এবং UCB এর 2026 Junior Officer circular দুটিতেই বলা হয়েছে, শুধু shortlisted candidates কেই written test এর জন্য ডাকা হবে। Uttara Bank 24 July 2026 এ Assistant Officer (General) এর জন্য একটি MCQ test নেয় এবং shortlisted roll numbers কে 7 August 2026 এ আলাদা দুই ঘণ্টার written test এ ডাকে। NRB Bank 26 June 2026 এ Trainee Assistant Officer এর জন্য written test নেয়। BRAC Bank তাদের Young Leaders' Program test এর জন্য একটি online assessment platform ব্যবহার করে। Bangladesh Bank এর rule দুই ধরনের ব্যবস্থাই অনুমোদন করে, test in person হতে পারে অথবা online assessment হতে পারে।

Since 7 September 2026 the shape is no longer optional. Bangladesh Bank's BRPD Circular No. 18 says entry posts that need no experience, naming Management Trainee Officer, Senior Officer and Probationary Officer first, must be filled through an objective or written test, in person or online, plus a viva, and the most meritorious candidate appointed. The circular sets no syllabus, no mark weights and no pass mark, and it says nothing either way about outside exam conductors. Private bank এর paper কে set করে? অনেক coaching page এ বলা হয় IBA at the University of Dhaka private bank MTO এর বেশিরভাগ question set করে। কিন্তু কোনো bank circular বা established newspaper থেকে আমরা এটি confirm করতে পারিনি। Press এ আমরা IBA এর যে ভূমিকার প্রমাণ পেয়েছি সেটি আলাদা। The Daily Star 1 October 2025 এ report করেছিল যে IBA Islami Bank এর existing officials দের competency assessment পরিচালনা করেছে, যেটি recruitment exam ছিল না। কাজের দিক থেকে তাই একটি বিষয়ে গুরুত্ব দেওয়া যায়, কোনো rumoured question setter এর "pattern" ধরে preparation না করে published bank papers এ যে sections বারবার দেখা যায় সেগুলোকে ভিত্তি করে preparation নেওয়া।

Section by section: what to practise

The topic lists below are the ones the 2026 notices print. Where a notice prints none, the section is described, not guessed.

Focus writing প্রতিটি language এ 30 থেকে 35 marks বহন করে, এবং 2026 Senior Officer notice এ topics হিসেবে recent global এবং Bangladesh issues এর কথা বলা হয়েছে। Topic আগে থেকে predict করা যায় না, কিন্তু type কিছুটা বোঝা যায়, যেমন economy, banking, technology, climate এবং employment। গত ছয় মাসের এসব theme নিয়ে news থেকে একটি notebook তৈরি করুন, যেখানে checked figures এবং dates থাকবে। এরপর দুই ভাষায় timer দিয়ে writing practise করুন এবং লিখে শেষ করার পর অন্য কাউকে তা পড়তে দিন। Memorised essay সাধারণত আসল question এর সঙ্গে ঠিকমতো মেলে না, আর examiner রাও সেটি বুঝতে পারেন।

Written paper এ Mathematics SSC level এর, 25 থেকে 30 marks, এবং Officer (General) ও Officer (Cash) notices অনুযায়ী questions Bangla তে set করা হয়। তাই SSC general mathematics textbook একটি ভালো base, coaching shortcut নয়। Full steps সহ solve করুন, কারণ written maths answer এ শুধু result নয়, working ও marks পাওয়ার অংশ। MCQ এর জন্য একই topics clock এর বিপরীতে practise করুন, কারণ প্রতি question এ 36 seconds থাকলে long calculation করার সুযোগ থাকে না।

Financial and Banking Knowledge প্রতিটি paper এ মাত্র 10 marks, কিন্তু business news পড়া candidate এখানে স্পষ্ট advantage পেতে পারে। Bangladesh Bank এর announcements এবং একটি national daily এর business pages follow করুন। inflation, policy rate, remittance এবং central bank এর role এর মতো terms এতটা বুঝে পড়ুন যাতে সেগুলো দুই লাইনে explain করতে পারেন। 7 September 2026 recruitment circular নিজেই current banking news এর মধ্যে কী ধরনের বিষয় জানা দরকার তার একটি ভালো example।

How to divide your preparation time

Preparation time মোটামুটি marks অনুযায়ী ভাগ করুন। Published patterns এ English ও Bangla মিলিয়ে grammar, comprehension, translation এবং focus writing সবচেয়ে বড় share বহন করে। এরপর Mathematics এবং analytical reasoning। GK, ICT এবং banking knowledge আলাদাভাবে কম marks বহন করলেও সব মিলিয়ে ভালো contribution দেয়। একটি কার্যকর weekly rhythm হতে পারে, প্রতিদিন timed MCQ sets, প্রতি language এ সপ্তাহে অন্তত দুটি full writing tasks, একটি translation set, এবং প্রতি এক বা দুই সপ্তাহে timer চালু রেখে একটি full mock paper। কোন section এ বারবার marks হারাচ্ছেন তার log রাখুন এবং যে section এ সমস্যা বেশি হচ্ছে সেখানে preparation time বাড়ান।

Mistakes that cost marks

কিছু ভুল বারবার marks কমিয়ে দেয়। Writing practise না করে essay memorise করা। English medium students এর Bangla grammar এবং Bangla focus writing এড়িয়ে যাওয়া, অথচ দুটো মিলিয়ে 40 marks বা তার বেশি হতে পারে। Translation কে গুরুত্ব না দেওয়া, যখন কিছু pattern এ প্রতিটি direction এ এটি 20 marks বহন করে। Negative marking থাকা অবস্থায় MCQ তে blind guessing করা। একটি bank এর paper দেখেই ধরে নেওয়া যে সব bank এর paper একই রকম। আর 2026 এর জন্য 2025 এর guidebook দিয়ে preparation নেওয়া।

What we could not verify

• Viva marks. None of the 2026 BSCS or Bangladesh Bank notices we read state them, so this guide gives none.
• Written exam length for Senior Officer and Officer (Cash). Only the Officer (General) notice states a duration, two hours. Uttara Bank's private bank written test was also two hours.
• Who sets private bank papers. No bank circular or established newspaper we read names an outside setter for a private bank recruitment exam in 2024 to 2026.
• Private bank mark splits and pass marks. Not published by any bank we checked. The BRPD circular sets none either.
• Dutch Bangla Bank's 2026 MTO exam date. Applications closed on 13 September 2026; no exam date had been published when we checked on 2 October.
