British American Tobacco Bangladesh has an exciting opportunity for the position of Leaf Depot Operations Officer in Jhenaidah.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute contingency fund (CF) management and maintain accountability.
• Oversee inventory management of prized and green leaf and conduct timely stock reconciliation.
• Ensure timely and disciplined distribution of crop inputs among farmers and participate in implementing various farmer support programs.
• Establish close working relationships with the field team while extending support to the farming community.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation and record management.
• Support buying activities by raising purchase orders (POs), arranging buying materials, and ensuring logistics.
• Supervise post-buying rehandling activities, including grading, stripping, and butting, to support MPS/Green Leaf Transfer Orders, warehouse management, and PI&T-related activities.
• Support the implementation of ESG and EH&S initiatives, including afforestation, for sustainable Leaf Operations.
• Build effective relationships with vendors, cross-functional teams, particularly the Finance team, government agencies, and local communities to ensure smooth day-to-day business operations.
• Lead and supervise third-party contractors and labour teams to deliver operational excellence and maintain workplace standards.
• Manage fleet operations to achieve cost optimization.
• Execute and monitor data entry and data verification through company-affiliated applications (MBL).
• Lead depot maintenance, housekeeping, hygiene, and sanitation in compliance with applicable standards.
• Maintain relationships with local government authorities, including service providers such as PDB, REB, and WZPDCL, local financial organizations, Zila Parishad, Municipality, Upazila Parishad, Union Parishad, and other relevant financial organizations.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Botany, Soil Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of depot operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
• Strong negotiation skills with experience managing suppliers, contractors, and external service providers.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable farming practices and farmer management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team management skills.
• A proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to live and work in rural locations as required.
• Proficiency in inventory tracking systems and Microsoft Excel.
