About the Role
The Manager, Communications will lead the strategic communications of the Social Compliance programme, strengthening its visibility, positioning, and impact. The role will lead proposal development and strategic partnerships to support programme growth and sustainability, while ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and consistent, high-quality communications across projects.
The role will also provide strategic support to leadership on communications, business development, and programme planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement the annual communications strategy, roadmap, workplan, and budget for the Social Compliance programme, aligned with organisational and AOP priorities.
- Drive strategic communications, visibility, and positioning across NIRAPON, SHIKHA, and other current and upcoming projects, including at least one flagship initiative annually.
- Develop and oversee high-impact content, including thought leadership articles, blogs, case studies, publications, social media, website content, documentaries, and audio-visual materials.
- Lead high-level events and stakeholder engagements by developing presentations, talking points, briefing materials, and representing BRAC at relevant external platforms.
- Strengthen communications capacity across programme teams through coaching, training, facilitation, and strategic guidance.
- Identify and pursue fundraising and business development opportunities, including EOIs, concept notes, and technical and financial proposals.
- Coordinate and contribute to end-to-end proposal development, submission, follow-up, and opportunity tracking in collaboration with programme and technical teams.
- Support the development of AOPs, budgets, project workplans, resource mobilisation plans, reports, presentations, and other strategic documents in line with organisational and donor requirements.
- Provide technical assistance to team leads on resource mobilisation planning, target setting, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
- Facilitate training and capacity-building sessions for factory management, corporate clients, and other stakeholders, as required.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation, and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation.
- Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Additional Job Requirements
- Strong knowledge of bilateral and multilateral donors, including thematic priorities, proposal requirements, and budget frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing strategic communications plans and campaigns.
- Demonstrated knowledge of gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH), gender equality, and human rights issues and interventions.
- Good understanding of Bangladesh’s socio-economic context and development landscape.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.
- Ability to drive innovation, improve processes, and introduce effective new approaches.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the development sector.
- 3 years of experience in Fund Raising, Partnerships and Communication or in a similar area.
