Business Development Officer, PL, V&V

Job Overview

The Business Development Officer, PL, V&V will support the Retail Banking business by driving sales of Personal Loans and Credit Cards, achieving business targets, delivering need-based solutions, and maintaining adherence to the Bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Business

• Use strong selling and interpersonal skills to convince clients and sell bank products.
• Demonstrate creativity in meeting client demands using existing products.
• Take initiative and demonstrate drive to achieve set targets and service standards.
• Adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures.
• Support the Business Development Manager of Outbound in translating Retail Banking agendas into detailed execution plans.
• Achieve business targets.
• Participate in sales calls and offer suitable products, including Personal Loans and Credit Cards.
• Ensure need-based selling.
• Capitalize on cross-sell opportunities.

Process & Compliance

• Adhere to critical policies.
• Protect the Bank’s and clients’ interests against fraud and mis-selling.
• Attend training, acquire knowledge, and apply it to job functions.
• Comply with all policies, guidelines, procedures, and local regulatory requirements.
• Comply with applicable money laundering prevention procedures.
• Ensure error-free AOF/application/instruction submission.

People & Talent

• Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values.
• Set appropriate tone and expectations and collaborate with risk and control partners.
• Support ongoing training and development of people.
• Ensure critical function holders are suitably skilled and qualified and have effective supervision to mitigate risks.

Risk Management

• Proactively identify and mitigate reputational and operational risks.
• Ensure issues are reported and escalated in line with Group and local policies and procedures.
• Support and drive the implementation of ORF initiatives and rollout of the OR Target Operating Model.
• Record and maintain operational risks in the risk tracking system (Excel) in accordance with Group Operational Risk Procedures.
• Ensure timely escalation of H&S-related issues.

Governance & Regulatory Conduct

• Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, Group Code of Conduct, and the Bank’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Demonstrate exemplary conduct and uphold the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for maintaining high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, and business conduct.
• Identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters collaboratively.

• Embed Here for Good and the Group’s brand and values within the V&V Outbound team.
• Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business, or Functional policies and procedures.
