System Administrator (PO/FAVP)

Mercantile Bank PLC is hiring a System Administrator (PO/FAVP) for its System Administration and Data Center Management Team, to keep the bank’s data center infrastructure and critical IT systems available, reliable and secure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor physical and virtual servers across DC and DR environments
  • Manage AIX/UNIX, Linux and Windows Server installation, configuration, patching, hardening and clustering
  • Administer IBM, Dell and enterprise server platforms, SAN/NAS storage and IBM Storage Protect (TSM) backup
  • Manage virtualization and cloud platforms, provisioning, migration and capacity planning
  • Support infrastructure for CBS, SWIFT, digital/mobile banking, agent banking and payment systems
  • Implement security hardening and remediate VAPT and audit findings
  • Maintain DC/DR infrastructure including PAC, UPS, CCTV, EMS and access control

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in CSE, IT or a related discipline
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a scheduled bank’s IT Division, System Administration or Data Center Operations
  • Practical knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Windows Server administration, IBM Power, SAN/NAS storage, backup and recovery, DC/DR and HA clusters
  • Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, MCSE, VMware VCP, IBM, ITIL, AWS or Azure are an added advantage
  • Shell/PowerShell/Python scripting and IBM AIX administration are an advantage
