Shelter Engineer

IFRC is hiring a Shelter Engineer for its Cox’s Bazar sub-office to give technical oversight of shelter and settlement works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep IFRC field presence and verify shelter works against designs and standards
  • Review construction progress, workmanship, material quality and safety
  • Document deviations and follow up corrective actions with BDRCS
  • Support technical verification of milestones, handover and acceptance
  • Review site assessments, drawings and plans with the Shelter & Settlement Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years in civil engineering, humanitarian shelter, construction monitoring or QA
  • Shelter design, construction and civil works review experience
  • Knowledge of building materials, codes and procurement
  • Fluent English and Bangla
