BRAC Internships: BRIDGE or the Regular Programme, What BRAC Has Published, and How to Apply

BRAC এ internship এর জন্য দুটি route আছে, এবং দুটির কাজের ধরন একেবারেই আলাদা। BRIDGE হলো ছয় মাসের paid cohort programme, যা বছরে একবার বা দুইবার open হয়েছে। July 2026 intake এর form ইতোমধ্যে closed। অন্যদিকে, Regular Internship Programme চলে individual circular এর মাধ্যমে। 29 September 2026 এ BRAC এর page এ এমন পাঁচটি circular ছিল, প্রতিটিতে তিন মাসের জন্য মাসিক BDT 8,000 stipend এবং deadline ছিল 30 September থেকে 17 October 2026 এর মধ্যে। অনেক applicant এই দুটি route কে একই programme মনে করেন। এই guide এ দুটিকে আলাদা করে দেখানো হয়েছে, BRAC কী প্রকাশ করেছে আর কী প্রকাশ করেনি তা তুলে ধরা হয়েছে এবং প্রতিটির জন্য কীভাবে preparation নিতে হবে তা বলা হয়েছে।

The two routes at a glance

সবচেয়ে বড় পার্থক্য শুধু duration নয়। BRIDGE একটি call এর মাধ্যমে একসঙ্গে একাধিক জায়গার জন্য recruitment করে, যেকোনো discipline এর candidate apply করতে পারেন, এবং selection এর পর BRAC আপনাকে একটি project এ place করে। Regular internship এ একটি circular সাধারণত একটি নির্দিষ্ট team এর জন্য হয়, এবং কে apply করতে পারবে তা সেই circular এই নির্ধারণ করা থাকে। তাই একটি route এর জন্য দেওয়া advice অন্য route এর ক্ষেত্রে আপনার ক্ষতি করতে পারে। BRIDGE এর ক্ষেত্রে আপনার letter of intent এবং interview গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখে। Regular internship এ প্রথম filter হলো, circular এ দেওয়া degree requirement এর সঙ্গে আপনার degree মেলে কি না।

BRIDGE: what BRAC has published

BRAC says it started BRIDGE "as part of BRAC's commitment to develop the next generation of leaders in the development sector". TBS Graduates expands the name as BRAC Internship for Development Growth and Excellence. The internship lasts six months, and BRAC's page says interns will be part of projects "that will take you across Bangladesh".

BRAC's page lists what interns get: mentoring and hands on learning, a paid internship with a certificate on completion, and "higher chances to make it to BRAC's early career recruitments". Day to day, interns join the assigned project's operations, work with other departments and field offices, prepare reports and presentations, and support meetings, events and field work.

The selection criteria, in BRAC's words: "Graduation from any discipline from any reputed university", "Bachelor's degree or students at least in their last semester", and "Exposure to extracurricular activities preferred". No CGPA line appears.

Dates দেখলে একটি বিষয় পরিষ্কার হয়, BRIDGE এর জন্য নির্দিষ্ট কোনো এক মাস নেই। 2025 সালে BRAC দুটি call দিয়েছিল। একটির deadline ছিল 3 May, July intake এর জন্য, আর অন্যটির deadline ছিল 1 November। 2026 সালে বছরের শেষ দিকে আবার কোনো call এলে সেটি October এ open হতে পারে, তবে BRAC এখনো এমন কিছু announce করেনি। তাই এটিকে নির্দিষ্ট date নয়, বরং আগের pattern দেখে আমাদের reading হিসেবে ধরতে হবে। Practical step হলো BRAC এর official Facebook এবং LinkedIn page follow করা এবং call আসার আগেই letter of intent তৈরি করে রাখা।

How BRIDGE selection works

BRAC lists two steps: an application with a letter of intention, and an interview. In a TBS Graduates interview published on 30 April 2026, two BRIDGE alumni, Asad Uz Zaman and Fahim Muntasir Saurav, described the same two stages. The online application asked for a CV and written answers to questions such as "Where do you see yourself in five years?". The second stage was a face to face interview about their CV, the role and their ambitions, and there was no aptitude test. They said the whole process took about one and a half to two months.

এ কারণেই BRIDGE এর জন্য MTO style preparation plan খুব একটা কাজে আসে না। প্রস্তুতির জন্য কোনো aptitude test নেই। আপনার written answers এবং interview ই মূল ভূমিকা রাখে। Alumni দের advice ছিল খুব straightforward। Generic line না লিখে honest answer দিন, role অনুযায়ী CV tailor করুন, BRAC এর recent projects সম্পর্কে পড়ুন এবং interview এ কিছু বানিয়ে বলবেন না। University club work বা event management এর অভিজ্ঞতা কাজে আসে, কারণ BRAC এর নিজের criteria তে extracurricular activities এর exposure কে preference দেওয়ার কথা বলা হয়েছে।

The Regular Internship Programme, and the calls open now

BRAC describes its Regular Internship Programme as a wide range of opportunities for graduate and postgraduate students over three months, with exposure to its social development work. Each opening is a separate circular, posted as a PDF on BRAC's regular internship page. Five were listed on 29 September 2026; when we checked again on 2 October, the two 30 September calls had closed and a sixth, from the BRAC Education Programme, had been added on 30 September:

All six run for three months, pay BDT 8,000 a month and set an eight hour working day, at BRAC's Dhaka offices (BRAC Centre and BRAC Tower in Mohakhali, and BRAC International's Dhaka office). Every circular also asks for strong Bangla and English, and none states a minimum CGPA.

আবার "who can apply" অংশটি দেখুন। একটি circular এ graduates চাওয়া হয়েছে এবং বলা হয়েছে final semester students preferred নয়। আরেকটিতে last semester students apply করতে পারবেন, তবে অন্য সব course completed থাকতে হবে। তৃতীয়টিতে LL.M চাওয়া হয়েছে। তাই "BRAC internship eligibility" এর কোনো একক উত্তর নেই। Circular এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়। Degree requirement এর সঙ্গে না মেলা একটি strong CV অন্য সবকিছুর আগেই বাদ পড়তে পারে। কিছু লেখা শুরু করার আগে PDF খুলে level, subject list এবং language requirement দেখে নিন।

Internship এর list ও খুব দ্রুত পরিবর্তন হয়। 24 September 2026 এ আমাদের own circular page এ BRAC এর দশটি internship listed ছিল। 29 September এ BRAC এর page এ পাঁচটি দেখা গেছে, যার মধ্যে দুটি একই দিন posted হয়েছে। Regular internship করতে চাইলে নির্দিষ্ট season এর অপেক্ষা না করে প্রতি সপ্তাহে page check করা ভালো।

How to apply for a regular internship

BRAC's "How to apply" button opens its internship FAQ. The steps it sets out:

1. Download the BRAC Internship Application Form (a Word file linked from the FAQ).
2. Fill it in and email it to [email protected] with an updated CV that includes a passport sized digital photo.
3. Write the name of the programme or department you're applying to in the email subject.
4. BRAC assesses the form, forwards it to that programme or department, and says it will communicate a decision within two weeks of the deadline. There is no processing fee.

Form এ শুধু CV চাওয়া হয় না। সেখানে personal statement, কেন নির্দিষ্ট placement টি বেছে নিতে চান এবং কীভাবে value add করবেন সেই explanation, একটি skills grid যেখানে research, report writing, field work, communications এবং আরও skills থাকতে পারে, এবং দুইজন academic referee এর contact details দিতে হয়। Deadline week আসার আগেই referees ঠিক করে রাখুন এবং "reasons" answer টি নির্দিষ্ট team এর জন্য লিখুন। পাঁচটি application এ একই paragraph copy করে দিলে সেটি সহজেই বোঝা যায়।

পাঁচটি circular এই stipend মাসিক BDT 8,000, এবং BRAC এর internship FAQ তেও একই figure দেওয়া আছে। FAQ এ staff cafeteria তে subsidised meal, staff rate এ transport যেখানে conditions apply এবং BRAC University library ব্যবহারের সুযোগের কথাও বলা হয়েছে। সেখানে আরও বলা হয়েছে, BRAC এর কাছে পর্যাপ্ত laptop নাও থাকতে পারে, তাই interns দের নিজেদের laptop নিয়ে আসা উচিত। Field work এ থাকলে BRAC এর learning centres এ নিজের food এবং accommodation এর খরচ intern কেই বহন করতে হয়। Internship শেষে একটি Letter of Appreciation দেওয়া হয়, এবং supervisor ব্যক্তিগত recommendation লিখতে পারেন।

What BRAC hasn't published

• The BRIDGE stipend. BRAC calls BRIDGE paid, but gives no amount on its page or in its posts.
• How many BRIDGE places there are, or how interns are matched to projects.
• How many interns BRAC hires afterwards. BRIDGE promises "higher chances", not a job, and no conversion rate is published.
• A CGPA minimum. Neither the BRIDGE page nor any of the six regular circulars we read states one.
• Any test for regular internships. The FAQ describes a form assessment and placement, nothing more.

Don't confuse BRIDGE with BRIDGE Returnship

BRAC also runs a programme called BRIDGE Returnship. The Business Standard reported on 19 January 2025 that it is a six month career re entry programme for women professionals with at least three years' experience who have been on a career break for at least a year. It is a separate programme from the BRIDGE internship, with different eligibility.

A short preparation checklist

BRAC কোনো telecom বা FMCG company নয়, তাই তাদের internship এ একই ধরনের preparation সব সময় কাজে দেবে না। BRAC কোনো route এর জন্য aptitude test প্রকাশ করেনি। এখানে মূল বিষয় হলো আপনার degree circular এর requirement এর সঙ্গে মেলে কি না এবং written answers দেখে বোঝা যায় কি না যে আপনি BRAC এর কাজ সম্পর্কে পড়াশোনা করেছেন। Final semester student হলে BRIDGE এবং যেসব regular circular last semester students accept করে, সেগুলোতে apply করার সুযোগ আছে। আর graduation সম্পন্ন হয়ে গেলে regular circular এর আরও বেশি option আপনার জন্য খোলা থাকে।
