Grameenphone Nextern: What Grameenphone Has Published, What It Hasn't, and How to Be Ready for the Next Call

Nextern হলো Grameenphone এর flagship internship programme। সর্বশেষ application window প্রায় দশ দিন খোলা ছিল। Grameenphone এর Life at GP page এ 1 April 2026 তারিখে এটি প্রকাশ করা হয় এবং deadline ছিল 11 April 2026। 28 September 2026 পর্যন্ত নতুন কোনো Nextern call open নেই। বাংলাদেশের বেশিরভাগ flagship internship যেখানে final year students দের আবেদন করতে বলে, সেখানে Nextern এর circular এ recent university graduates চাওয়া হয়। এই guide এ Grameenphone Nextern সম্পর্কে কী প্রকাশ করেছে, কী প্রকাশ করেনি, selection সম্পর্কে candidates কী জানিয়েছেন এবং পরবর্তী call আসার আগে কী কী প্রস্তুত রাখা দরকার, সেগুলো তুলে ধরা হয়েছে।

What Nextern is

Nextern is Grameenphone's internship programme for graduates, one of four routes on its Flagship Programs page alongside Campus Lead, Platform SHE and the Next Business Leader management trainee programme. Grameenphone describes it as a structured internship that blends real world projects with professional development, and its circulars say the programme is built around "learning by doing".

Interns are placed in a division and work on that team's projects. The 2023 circulars list the divisions that take Nexterns: Business, Commercial, Corporate Affairs, Digital, Finance, HR and Technology. Grameenphone's own intern profiles from 2024 carry titles such as "Nextern, Digital" and "Nextern, Commercial". Later circulars say only "various functions across the organization", so the list for any given call may differ.

What Grameenphone has published, and what it hasn't

When it opens

Grameenphone নির্দিষ্ট কোনো calendar অনুসরণ করে Nextern পরিচালনা করে না। 2023 সালের পর থেকে আমরা পাঁচটি application window পেয়েছি এবং সেগুলো ছিল May, December, February, September এবং April এ। দুটি বিষয় বারবার দেখা গেছে। প্রথমত, application window খুবই ছোট। May 2023 এর call 17 May প্রকাশ করা হয়েছিল এবং 25 May বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। 2026 এর call প্রকাশ করা হয় 1 April এবং deadline ছিল 11 April। দ্বিতীয়ত, 2025 সালে দুটি call ছিল। একটি 2 February এবং অন্যটি 3 September এ বন্ধ হয়। অর্থাৎ বছরের দ্বিতীয়ার্ধেও call এসেছে। 2024 সালে 13 December 2023 এ শেষ হওয়া call ছাড়া আর কোনো Nextern call আমরা খুঁজে পাইনি। তাই পরবর্তী call কোন মাসে আসবে, তা নিশ্চিতভাবে কেউ বলতে পারে না, আমরাও না। Practical approach হলো Life at GP এর Facebook page এবং Grameenphone এর LinkedIn follow করা এবং post প্রকাশের আগেই CV প্রস্তুত রাখা। কারণ দশ দিন সময়ের মধ্যে একেবারে শুরু থেকে CV তৈরি করা যথেষ্ট কঠিন।

Who can apply

May 2023 থেকে April 2026 পর্যন্ত আমরা যে প্রতিটি Nextern circular দেখেছি, সেগুলোতেই একই eligibility line ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে: tech এবং non tech disciplines এর recent university graduates। December 2023 থেকে September 2025 পর্যন্ত প্রকাশিত postings এ Business এবং Engineering কে example হিসেবে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। তবে Grameenphone এর নিজস্ব posts এ wording সবসময় এতটা নির্দিষ্ট ছিল না। May 2023 এর post এ "current and recent university graduate students" বলা হয়েছিল এবং May 2024 এর একটি post এ Nextern কে undergraduate students দের জন্য programme হিসেবে বর্ণনা করা হয়েছিল। কোনটি প্রযোজ্য হবে, সেটি নির্ধারণ করবে circular। তাই final year student হলে বন্ধুর summary অনুসরণ না করে যে call এ apply করছেন, তার exact line দেখে নিন। আমরা যে circular গুলো দেখেছি, কোনোটি minimum CGPA, age limit বা graduation year cutoff উল্লেখ করেনি।

Nextern circular গুলোতে যে skills চাওয়া হয়েছে, সেগুলো প্রতিবারই একই: independently এবং team এ কাজ করার ability, strong problem solving, analytical এবং critical thinking skills, এবং excellent communication ও interpersonal skills। Technology roles এর ক্ষেত্রে Java, C বা C++, Python, JavaScript, Oracle, MySQL অথবা Linux এর knowledge advantage হিসেবে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। Grameenphone এর নিজস্ব student page এ বলা হয়েছে, grades দিয়ে intelligence measure করা হয় না। তবে technical concepts এবং business acumen এর knowledge যাচাই করা হয়। এটিকে interview এর একটি clue হিসেবে দেখুন, grades কখনোই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নয় এমন ইঙ্গিত হিসেবে নয়।

How selection works

Grameenphone Nextern এর selection stages প্রকাশ করেনি। Publicly shared candidate experiences, যেগুলো আমরা একাধিক platform এ cross check করেছি, সেখানে তিনটি step এর কথা বলা হয়েছে: CV screening, একটি timed online assessment এবং তারপর interview। Candidates জানিয়েছেন, assessment এ verbal reasoning, problem solving এবং analytical ability এর প্রশ্ন থাকতে পারে। Interview এ CV তে থাকা projects এবং real situations কীভাবে handle করবেন, সে ধরনের প্রশ্ন করা হয় বলেও তারা জানিয়েছেন। এগুলো reported experience হিসেবে দেখুন, Grameenphone এর published process হিসেবে নয়। কারণ intake ভেদে format পরিবর্তন হতে পারে।

Grameenphone's own student page does give its view of what it looks for, in its own words: "We believe in individuality and diversity. We do not measure intelligence by grades, but we do check your knowledge of technical concepts and business acumen." The same page says its interviews are designed as two way conversations.

Preparing for each stage

CV: এখানে Grameenphone এর student page এর নিজস্ব advice অনুসরণ করা যায়। সেখানে passions এবং achievements highlight করার পাশাপাশি extracurricular activities থেকে কী skills অর্জন করেছেন, সেদিকে গুরুত্ব দিতে বলা হয়েছে। Circular এ problem solving, analytical thinking এবং communication চাওয়া হয়েছে। তাই CV এর প্রতিটি line এ দায়িত্বের তালিকা না দিয়ে এর মধ্যে অন্তত একটি skill এবং একটি real result তুলে ধরা ভালো। CV এক page এ রাখুন। Technology role এ apply করলে circular এ থাকা languages এবং tools এমন জায়গায় রাখুন, যেখানে screener প্রথমেই দেখতে পারে। তবে শুধু যেগুলো নিয়ে confidently কথা বলতে পারবেন, সেগুলোই list করুন।

Online assessment: timer ধরে verbal reasoning, problem solving এবং analytical questions practice করুন এবং working এর জন্য pen ও paper কাছে রাখুন। Grameenphone Nextern এর জন্য কোনো syllabus, question count বা time limit প্রকাশ করেনি। তাই general aptitude practice থেকে প্রস্তুতি নিন এবং নির্দিষ্ট কোনো format সম্পর্কে যা শুনছেন, সেটিকে একজন candidate এর account হিসেবে দেখুন।

Interview: Grameenphone এর student page এ বলা হয়েছে, তাদের interviews two way conversation হিসেবে designed। তাই নিজের answers এর পাশাপাশি interviewer কে কোন questions করবেন, সেগুলোও প্রস্তুত রাখুন। Candidates কে Grameenphone এবং telco ও digital service provider industry সম্পর্কে research করতেও বলা হয়েছে। Practicalভাবে এর অর্থ হলো Grameenphone কী sell করে, তাদের customers কারা এবং সাম্প্রতিক কোনো product বা service সম্পর্কে আপনার কী মতামত আছে, তা জানা। CV তে থাকা প্রতিটি project সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত প্রশ্নের জন্য প্রস্তুত থাকুন।

Is it paid?

Grameenphone বলেছে Nextern paid: আমরা যে প্রতিটি circular দেখেছি, সেখানেই "competitive monthly stipend" অফার করা হয়েছে। তবে amount কখনো প্রকাশ করা হয়নি। Social media তে বিভিন্ন figure দেখা যায়, কিন্তু কোনোটিই Grameenphone দ্বারা confirmed নয়। তাই আমরা কোনো amount দিচ্ছি না। Circular গুলোতে calls এবং SMS এর জন্য mobile credit, work hours এ complimentary lunch এবং যেখানে applicable সেখানে pick and drop service এর কথাও উল্লেখ আছে।

What happens after Nextern

Nextern শেষ করার পর job দেওয়ার কোনো promise Grameenphone করেনি এবং conversion rate ও প্রকাশ করেনি। একটি public data point আছে Grameenphone এর নিজস্ব post থেকে। May 2023 এর একটি post এ Grameenphone জানিয়েছিল, former Nextern interns Salman, Fyeeza, Farhana এবং Faria তখন company তে full time positions এ কাজ করছিলেন। এতে বোঝা যায় এই route এর মাধ্যমে company তে কাজের সুযোগ তৈরি হয়েছে। তবে কতজন intern সেখানে পৌঁছেছেন, তা এই তথ্য বলে না। Nextern কে দেশের largest mobile operator এর ভেতরে তিন মাসের real project work হিসেবে দেখুন এবং নিজের job search পাশাপাশি চালিয়ে যান।

What to get ready now

A short checklist for the weeks before the next call:

• Graduation status checked against the line in the circular, not a friend's summary.
• CV finished, one page, with a real result against every project, club role and competition.
• Problem solving, analysis and communication shown, since every circular names them.
• Tech skills placed where a screener sees them first, if you are aiming at a technology role, and only the ones you can discuss.
• A one minute story ready for every line on that CV.
• Timed aptitude practice in verbal, problem solving and analytical questions.
• Grameenphone read up: what it sells, who its customers are, one product you have a view on, and a question of your own for the interviewer.
• Notifications on for Life at GP on Facebook, Grameenphone on LinkedIn and your university career office.

A word of caution

Grameenphone এর own student careers page এখনও বলে "Our Internship Program will resume from January 2023"। তাই Nextern open আছে কি না বোঝার জন্য শুধু ওই page এর ওপর নির্ভর করবেন না। Recent calls এসেছে Life at GP এর Facebook এবং Grameenphone এর LinkedIn posts এর মাধ্যমে। Application নেওয়া হয়েছে LinkedIn Jobs অথবা Grameenphone এর career portal এ। কোনো call এ আমরা application fee পাইনি। কেউ Nextern এ ঢোকানোর জন্য টাকা চাইলে, অথবা Grameenphone এর own posts থেকে linked নয় এমন কোনো form পাঠালে, সেটি Grameenphone এর process নয়।
