Head of Audit

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Risk-Based Internal Audit (RBIA) framework and Annual Audit Plan
• Lead and supervise audit and inspection activities to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls
• Ensure comprehensive audit coverage of branches, sub-branches and Head Office functions
• Ensure effective review of credit appraisal, approval, documentation, disbursement, monitoring and recovery
• Conduct or supervise special audits and investigations into suspected fraud, forgery and financial irregularities
• Ensure adequate audit coverage of Core Banking Systems, information systems and digital banking channels
• Present significant audit findings and the status of corrective actions to the Audit Committee

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of professional banking experience, with substantial exposure to Internal Audit, Audit & Inspection, Internal Control & Compliance, Credit Audit, Risk Management, Banking Operations or related control functions
• At least 3-5 years of senior-level experience in Audit & Inspection/Internal Audit, preferably in a scheduled commercial bank
• Preference for candidates serving as Head of Audit, Head of Audit & Inspection, Deputy Head of ICC/Audit or in an equivalent senior audit position
• Sound knowledge of Bangladesh Bank’s Guidelines on Internal Control & Compliance and Risk-Based Internal Audit

Educational Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Banking Management (MBM), Business Administration (MBA), Accounting, Finance, Management, Economics or any other relevant discipline from a reputed university
• CA, CMA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, CFE or other recognized professional qualifications will be considered a strong advantage
• No 3rd Division/Class or equivalent result in any academic examination will be permissible
• Age limit: maximum 55 years as on 24/10/2026
