Operations
- Process daily cash and transfer transactions, including remittances and other products such as Cashier’s Orders and Foreign Currency Exchange, as applicable.
- Ensure strict compliance with Group guidance, processes, policies, and local regulatory requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, Customer Due Diligence, and Code of Conduct.
- Ensure correct regulatory reporting, as applicable.
- Perform dual control and day-end reconciliation/review of cash, Cashier’s Orders, other instruments, security items, and stationery.
- Process entries and vouchers.
- Process Cashier’s Orders/Demand Drafts.
- Process Stop Payment instructions.
- Maintain required Turn-around Time.
- Maintain Cash Registers, Keys & Combination Register, and other relevant registers, as applicable.
- Perform ATM cash loading, daily servicing, and troubleshooting, if required.
- Manage and reconcile all Suspense and Sundry Accounts.
- Maintain Cash Difference File, Courier Controls, and Debit Cards and their registers, if applicable.
- Carry out contingent responsibility for receiving, delivering, safe keeping, and reconciliation of soiled/mutilated notes and prize bonds waiting to be delivered.
- Prepare Productivity Management and other reports and regular returns.
- Rectify internal control issues.
- Act as a Prime/Non-Prime Key Custodian, as assigned.
- Act as a Chief Teller, when assigned.
- Act as a backup of BOSM, when assigned.
- Act as the Locker Custodian, when assigned.
- Act as the Student File Custodian, when assigned.
- Handle client inquiries and complaints and process requests for certificates, statements, debit cards, stop payments, cheque books, etc.
- Process account-related instructions and forward them to Account Service/Loan Operations, as appropriate.
- Provide locker-related services.
- Provide student file-related services.
- Act as a Documentation Officer by preparing and managing lists of documents with details, archiving dates, and destruction dates; ensuring all boxes have destruction dates as per the Record Retention Policy during archiving; and retrieving documents as and when necessary.
Service Quality
- Provide prompt and high-quality service to clients.
- Achieve set targets in terms of service standards for transactions.
- Ensure branch premises are maintained to the specified standard and recommend workflow changes for greater efficiency.
- Resolve investigations and inquiries initiated through customer inquiries to the specified standard.
- Continue customer retention efforts through personal involvement in complaint resolution.
- Log customer complaints to CEMS and track their resolutions.
- Establish risk recognition and a compliance culture across the branch.
- Own and drive Know Your Customer/CDD, Reputation Risk, and Money Laundering initiatives.
- Report suspicious activities/transactions as necessary.
- Ensure the control environment is robust enough to receive satisfactory audit ratings.
- Ensure general housekeeping standards of the branch.
- Follow up on customer queries and solve problems.
- Enhance the Bank’s image through community activities.
Financial/Sales
- Generate new business through in-branch contacts and cross-selling based on observation of customer transactions.
- Build new relationships and strengthen existing relationships.
- Achieve set targets in terms of potential customers and follow up through phone calls.
- Refer prospective business to other Standard Chartered functional units.
Operational Risk/Administration
- Assist the Branch Manager with branch security management and coordinate with Administration as and when required.
- Assist the Branch Manager in ensuring that branches maintain all records that are auditable for a good audit rating.
- Participate in carrying out the Business Continuity Plan within the department.
People
- Maintain open channels of communication and high levels of motivation.
- Help create an environment where branch employees can operate as a team while demonstrating the Values of the Bank.
