Gildan is hiring a Database Administrator (Oracle) in Gulshan, Dhaka, reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, to keep all areas of database operation running smoothly. The role includes rotational weekend support and coverage before and after standard office hours.

The Role

  • Support Oracle, SQL Server and cloud database (Snowflake/Azure) technology and its deployment and usage standards
  • Support and maintain SQL scripts for stored procedures and database maintenance tasks
  • Assist BI and development teams with database design and SQL script creation and tuning
  • Ensure all database environment changes are tested and implemented with no impact on integrated systems
  • Maintain the Disaster Recovery Plan and SOX security documentation
  • Set up and configure new databases and install and upgrade database patches
  • Tune performance and troubleshoot database systems, including index, memory, CPU and space analysis

The Requirement

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized public or private university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle and SQL servers
  • Strong knowledge of database cloud solutions; Azure cloud will be an asset
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
