Head of Finance

Role Purpose

• Lead the country Finance team with ownership of commercial, business, administrative responsibilities, Financial Planning and Analysis, Monthly Business Review (MBR), and Business Decision Support.
• Provide financial leadership and guidance to the Country Leadership Team.
• Build and manage effective relationships with key business partners to influence and shape business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify business opportunities and set ambitious targets that translate into areas for business focus, resource allocation, and high-quality business planning input.
• Contribute through analysis and controlling processes to the operational and strategic performance and growth of both Crop Protection and Seeds businesses.
• Provide management with impartial financial advice based on detailed analysis of key financial information.
• Provide sound risk-based analysis on potential impacts and implications and propose ways to improve risk management on key economic exposures.
• Define, implement, and monitor key performance metrics in partnership with the business.
• Provide accurate and informative appraisals for key investment decisions to support trade-off discussions and appropriate resource allocation.
• Lead the annual Budget process, rolling forecasts, and long-term planning.
• Serve as a Board Member of Syngenta Bangladesh and accomplish board-related tasks as required by regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Own statutory and fiscal representation by managing and overseeing the preparation of statutory, tax, and management reports in accordance with local GAAP, tax regulations, and Group Reporting standards.
• Provide linkage between the Country and Regional Finance organizations, ensuring timely, accurate, effective, and transparent flow of information and data.
• Support and partner with the Finance Operation Team in Pune, India in implementing and delivering accounting and financial support to the country.
• Drive a compliance culture across the organization.
• Develop, coach, and guide the Finance team and inspire an agile and high-performing team.

Critical Experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience across accounting and business partnering roles.
• Proven capability to communicate and manage complex issues.
• Experience in strategic options development and implementation.
• Familiarity with a computerized business environment, including ERP software and Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Critical Knowledge

• P&L drive and finance business partnering, including GTM, pricing, portfolio, and price/volume trade-offs.
• Strong knowledge of TFCM, credit functions, and commercial terms.
• Advanced knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards and GAAP.
• Understanding of business financial planning cycles.
• Strong business case analysis and ability to analyze trade-off decisions with an ROI perspective.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and local statutory and tax regulations.

Critical Capabilities

• Certified Public Accountant, MBA preferred.
• Aptitude for detailed analysis and understanding the drivers of production and financial performance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management.
• Strong persuasion skills and ability to communicate with impact and influence non-finance functions.
• Advanced financial analysis tools and techniques.
